Concept Recap

I thought it was important for me to reflect and recap on what my concept is about.
My concept has been brought forward from my research of the portrayal of image manipulation within beauty and fashion advertisements and how they distort societies perception on what is perfect, causing an unattainable body image.

My reasons for choosing androgyny as the theme and styling inspiration was because I thought this was an unexpected view on how we see women in the media and manipulating the stereotypical perception of women.

Androgyny is the combination of feminine and masculine characteristics and can be portrayed through fashion, gender and sexual identity.
